Charm Of Simple Things

It took me a while. But now, I believe, ordinary things in the grasp of God can transform into exciting spiritual adventures. And how miracles are really everyday occurrences dressed in uncommon God-inspired ways. Oh, the blessed charm of simple things. A relaxing morning ligering over a cup of hot chocolate has yielded this reminder of the far more meaningful drinking of God's Word, of imbibling its very essence- every morning. And just like chocolate, God's Word infuses, saturates and releases a divine glowing energy in me to carry His message of love into the world.

The labour of love in a handwritten letter chosen over the detached ramblings in an email personalize for me the manner in which Jesus physically touched so many lives on earth. He touched the blind man's eyes and gave him sight. He took the little girl's hand and raised her from the dead. In servitude, He knelt and washd His disciples' feet. A pleasant evening walk punctuated by one indelible picture - a child who picks out his dad's voice, from amidst the after-school chaos of clash and clamour, to run straight into his arms. Like a child who instantly recognizes his father's voice, we can recognize God, our good Shepherd's voice because we are His sheep.

At the joys of baking bread! Yummy. The menial tasks of mixing the aromatic ingredients, putting it into the bread maker and the creme de la creme of the fresh aroma of the bread wafting from the bread maker opens a fresh window into Jesus's declaration that He is the 'bread of life'. And that whoever believes in Him will receive life and never go hungry.

Look how beautiful can simple things be. And now, I'm coming back to the Heart Of Worship. I promise this time, Father in Heaven.
